OK so things are not looking QUITE right, are they?
Something terrible happened, and I could not even get to the WordPress portion of my site. (I could get to all of my other pages – that are not “BLOG”.

Sadly, with work and school, and working free for school, and homework and studying and “everything else”, I have not had the time to “get things fixed” lately…

but, at least it is working.

Bear with me, and I will (at some point in the near future) have some time to “Get things fixed”.

… I just have a full plate right now, please accept my apologies.

    what is this?

My vision of finding new (to me) things to do is proving to be a bit difficult, being that I am working and attending classes (both full-time); but I have been trying to do what I can when I have time to do anything that is not directly work-or-school related.

    This past weekend, I…
Participated in a group dog walk with a bunch of individuals not (previously) known to me. It was fun for the dog, and not un-fun for myself; and I met other people who were out walking their dog(s) for whatever goal-reaching reasons they had.
-which is something I have not done before.

I plan to attend future group-dog walks as well. Everyone had well-behaved dogs and everyone followed the leash-guidelines (keep the dog on the leash, etc.)

    Valentine’s Day

Well, I have to admit that I did not celebrate today in any way shape or form. My daughter is with her mother this week, and I have no Valentine otherwise, so therefore, I have purchased “nothing for nobody” in particular. Enough said on that topic.

[all grammar faux pas (pho-PAH-s) are indicated as SIC* (means they are purposeful). I am not a moron.]

What did I do today? I got off work this morning around 0700. I came home, re-showered, ate breakfast… although at this time, I could not tell you what it was that I ate.

All I know is since I only have three eggs in the house and will not get around to going to the store until Thursday or Friday — I did not have eggs. After breakfast, I kind of just hung out on the couch. It is possible that I dozed off for 20-30 minutes, but I cannot really be sure, other than I was still sitting up after becoming aware that I might have been sleeping.

Around two in the afternoon (1400), Tim showed up announcing that he was there to use my scanner. I haven’t had a working scanner for at least two years, and he looked relatively shocked when I stated such– which is amusing because as far as I can remember, he was the person that was using the scanner when it was last known to be working. [?]

So, having nothing better to do, I went with him to Fed-Ex-Office (still known to me as “kinko’s”, which it probably always will be) to scan whatever it was that he needed to have scanned. [$3.18 total, not including gas consumption].

After that, Tim left, I came back home, and took my dog for a walk (I am guessing that roughly another hour for that passed), then returned home and planted myself back in front of the television.

I have “fired-up” the charcoal grill (no propane grilling is done here), and I am preparing to grill a TriTip (hunk of meat from the lower sections of a beef-yielding mammal.) I’ll be having that with salad and a baked potato, and will either have a glass of wine or perhaps mug of beer with my meal.

I will – eventually – have something to post about that can cover my (thus far failing) 2012 Project — or something that seems relevant otherwise.

Here are a few posts from the past that mention Valentine-related stuff.

    Not-Quite-Dead-On-Accurate…

how many germs live on your phone?

This is not quite accurate, because a few of the questions did not have the actual answer I’d use available to me… so I picked the closest possible answer. However, I am sure it is probably fairly accurate.

    Feeling a Lil’ Sluggish…

I am officially out of energy. I think it is time for a small vacation, which I have coming (one week) soon. I am still deciding what to do with it.

I think the reason I feel sluggish “right now”, is because I got up this morning, and went out for breakfast, which consisted of a huge serving of French Toast, with bacon and a side of potatoes.

I was unable to eat all of the food, but left the restaurant happy. That was (much earlier) this morning, and I am still feeling like I had TOO much Fat/Carbohydrate laden food. (Of course, I do realize that I did indeed consume too much fat and carbs.)

Either way… lunch will probably consist of an apple, and dinner will probably be beans and rice.

    One trillion, seventy-nine million, six-hundred fifty-six thousand, four-hundred -n- forty-eight

This morning, as I opened my laptop, having planned to read some news, stop by a few blogs of friends, and such, a small message popped up on my screen.

This particular (soft)ware, while at one time very useful, is no longer useful (to me), because of the fact that it (software) alerts me to updated software that does not have the ability to run on my (non-Intel) Macintosh PowerBook. (I have written to them about this, and that is another story entirely.)

Anyway, as I was saying, my computer alerted me to the fact that my version of AppFresh expired 1079656448 days ago.

I stopped to ponder…1,079,656,448 days? That cannot possibly be right, how many years is that, anyway?

Since I (am not) / was not quite awake to a level that I wanted to do some (very) long division, I hit up some internet calculators to do that for me. (I feel I should redeem myself and mention that I was able to say the number in its entirety out-loud without the commas in place. I put those in for clarity for you folks, because I like you.)

Now, I would think that if you are from this planet, you are aware that is not quite possible. I pondered the software maker’s oversight regarding this. I wondered if maybe this was their idea of a joke. Maybe, somewhere in the programming somebody entered something incorrectly, and to this date, nobody has noticed.

(Either way, it occupied me for at least half an hour, including taking the time to write this post.)

special thanks to MathCats.com and calculateme.com

    Something Borrowed, Something New…

Lately, there isn’t much going on in my life that brings me opportunities to do something new to me. GRANTED… I could go seek out new to me things to do, but I have limited time to do such things, like finding something to do that is new to me.

Today, I got out of bed early (for a day off), and took dog to his obedience class. He did well, and we are now practicing new-to-him commands. Then I came home and after about 2 hours of studying (have an exam on Monday)… I (finally) tackled that grocery store task I had been putting off.

Tomorrow — regardless of rain or coldness — I am going to grill a tri-tip (supervised on my covered patio) – and I am going to enjoy consuming some red meat.

Tonight, I have been watching television, and not doing much else. — Other than put the happy valentine’s header up (early, but now you can enjoy it’s too-colorful appearance and get kisses any time you want them).

    Causatum, defined.

Saturday morning, I completed my work shift, and headed home. Once there, I showered, got dressed, and gathered up the dog and his leash and some treats, and headed off to his (should that be OUR) obedience class. This was the first of the six classes, and we practiced a few basic things (which dog already knows). These would be SIT. (and) DOWN.

I know, I know. This dog is almost 2 years old, and compared to my previous dog — this one does not know much… (YET).

The new-to-him thing this past week was “LOOK” — (make eye contact with me, dog, and hold that eye contact until I say we’re done). They actually had used the word “WATCH” in training but my dog — perhaps having been taught this by previous owners or by someone at the shelter — responded to “LOOK” much more proficiently than “WATCH”. I am not sure how I figured that one out– other than possibly when I was demonstrating this task to someone and noticed that the dog responded very well to “LOOK” when compared to “WATCH”.

ANYWAY… (I lost my train of thought for a minute) Saturday, after obedience training, I returned home and pretty much spent the day as a blob on the sofa, aside from practicing these three tricks with dog.

When it came time for dinner, I decided to order chinese take-out. It sounded good, and I didn’t feel like cooking. I ate, and spent some time watching season 1 of Shameless (tv show on Shotime with William H. Macy). Sometime around 11-ish, I suddenly felt (let’s call it “intestinal distress”). It was a rather sudden onset of ICK with one bout of BLAH. I spent the entire night suffering. I spent most of Sunday with continued suffering… and today, I am still not back to my original luster.

Tomorrow, perhaps I can post about my “something I had not tried before” project… for now, I am still in recovery.
