Pity the Fool
Many of you know that most nights, I only sleep about four hours at a time, and after that I wake up "done". Lately, I am at my happiest when I am at work. This is probably because I am too busy to focus on myself for a while. This post explains why I am fairly happy despite being tired.
For the past few weeks, I've been working in my sleep -- meaning that when I am sleeping and dreaming, I am dreaming that I am at work. Oddly enough, on these work-dream nights, I sleep more hours than I do when I dream about other things. On the work-dream nights, I wake up mentally tired but my body insists that its time to get up and get moving. My body and my brain have never been known to be on the same time schedule. When it is time to get up, I feel like I've already put in several hours working. I do not feel the least bit rested, but I remember the dreams were about work.
The dreams follow a routine. (Always the same calls, always the same order... but the people's faces change and somtimes I do things differently). Usually about seven hours later the alarm clock wakes me up, and I have to start my day feeling like I just ended it.
