[Three Hours of Sleep and One Cup of Coffee]

Hello out there.
You guessed it. There is nobody online. Which basically forces me to sit down and write yet another little narrative about a day in the life of... well, Me!

Not very intriguing, is it? Hmmm.. Well there are just some books that you pass up because the moron who composed the jacket notes was in a bad mood the day he/she wrote it.

Today, I had the pleasure of sitting around a Doctors' office until he had time to examine my leg; for the purpose of finding out how the stress fracture I have obtained in my right leg (tibia stress fracture) is healing. So far so good. BUT these things can take from four-to-eight weeks to heal and its only been a week. Alas, I will prevail!

Lately, I find myself forced facing the reality of my child growing up. She starts Kindergarten in the Fall. I wanted to put her in private schools (no offense to any public school teachers intended) but there are not any in my immediate area for Kindergarten. (Well there is one, but I am not exactly willing to convert to Judaism for her to attend.)

Have you ever looked back on your day, and realize that you have accomplished absolutely nothing, yet you are so fraggin' tired you could just collapse? I don't find this amusing at all, but find myself in this situation all the time.

Anyway, shall we get started on my day ?

It's 5:30 a.m., the birds are even still asleep. I am awakened by the sense of being watched. I open one eye, cautiously, to find the dog looming over me in the dimly lit room. Apparently, he has no sense of how inappropriate it is to STAND on the bed and stare at a sleeping person. I dismiss the dog to try to grab any extra moments of sleep I can, but find that I can no longer remember the dream I had struggled to grasp as the day pulled me into consciousness. So, with great effort, I roll out of bed.

As I stumble towards the bathroom, only halfway grateful to even be alive (I am really not a morning person) I grab my toothbrush and load it up; to begin my daily hygiene rituals. Having performed the required brushing and rinsing; I head to the kitchen to turn on the coffee pot. In our high tech world, we have available to us these amazing machines that we can program in advance to wake up before we do and brew the coffee. Did mine actually succeed at this? Of course not. I start the coffee pot and, finally feeling a little more alive get into the shower. Once in there, I am suddenly feeling more alert and actually think I can face the world.

As I step out of the shower, the alarm clock (now reading 6:00 a.m.) comes alive to the sounds of Three Dog Night's - Shambala. I start feeling better knowing I got a head start on my day, despite the fact I really could use any extra sleep available to me. I sing as I lather up to shave and manage to do so without a nick or cut of any kind-yet another accomplishment).

The weather report predicts yet another beautiful day for our area - one that of course I will probably not get to enjoy because I have more errands to run than I can possibly fit in one day. So I have cereal with fruit for breakfast and another cup of coffee ... brush my teeth (again) and I'm ready for my day.

Of course traffic is backed up all the way down the bridge. (Why don't I make my appointments later in the day?). Finally make it to the doctor's and read the same articles that were there when I went for my first set of X rays a little over a week ago. They are lacking in interest just as they were before.

End result of my hour and a half wait for fifteen to twenty minutes of evaluation? More rest... blah blah blah. Figures.

I stop by my former place of employment to see how everyone is doing. After hanging around for about half an hour I decide its time for me to go ... "got a lot to do--wish I could stay and shoot-the-shit, guys but I've gotta run..."

Had lunch with my ex-wife, who is working with me on becoming friends again - sometimes easier said than done but this is actually working okay so far. Exchanged idle banter about my knee, and the upcoming first day of school for our daughter. We decided we could both walk her to class the first day.

Around 2:00, I went back home where I managed to get my apartment re-organized. Read a book, watched a little TV and fell asleep. When I got up... I got on line; and wouldn't ya know it? Not a soul on line.
