So Long, Little Friend
June 7, 2007 | Filed Under Pets | No CommentsThe mood of the house this past two weeks has been tenebrific as we adjust to life in the house without our little friend (and court jester), Pryor. I regretfully had to make the decision to let him have him put to sleep on May 31st. (Shortened version of what happened: renal failure). This was indeed difficult, but it was necessary in order to spare the cat additional suffering (and his dignity).
He was an extrordinary cat, one who was friendly and outgoing. He would greet visitors with a profound “mrnoaw”, strolling up to them with every intention of investigating them and not giving up until he was satisfied that they had admired him enough. He liked to play hide and seek and fetch; and loved to spin on an office chair (or in an empty laundry basket). He tolerated baths and showers, complaining for a few minutes but on some level enjoying the attention. He was very fond of chicken, cheese, and an occasional olive, and could hear a pistatio being cracked from anywhere in the house. He enjoyed games of “stalk-and-attack” with his dog (sometimes he let the dog think he had won).
Rest in peace, little friend. You are greatly missed.
