    Mine Tastes Like Purple!

I was walking through the grocery store and I spotted them. Four apples (sans-wax) in a plastic holder. The label boasted: Grapple! The apple that tastes like a grape!

brussels sproutsI thought it sounded interesting, so I bought them. They seem juicier than a typical Fuji. I thought it would be an apple with a hint of -- red grape rather than concord grape... I agree with Adam that it tastes like grape soda. When I decided to look it up, I read that they soak them in "grape flavoring" and explained that all ingredients are "FDA APPROVED". (hmm) The site also explained that they created these in an effort to making kids eat more fruits and vegetables.

(My thought on this was) "If kids are going to like anything in the Fruit and Vegetable groups - it is typically apples, grapes and bananas... (or corn for a vegetable). So I want to know... why don't they make brussels sprouts taste like something else?

    Change of Plans

Initially I had planned take some time this weekend to type out some posts, which I have hand-written on various bits of paper. Then, (Tim) sent me the link (use the graphic or in the title of this post to visit).

Be a part of one of the biggest global experiments ever to take place on the internet. The idea behind the experiment is to find out how many people can go without a computer for one whole day, and what will happen if we all participate!

I don't like change. I like to make a plan and stick with it, NO DETOURS ALLOWED. Sometime during the last week, I underwent a metamorphasis of sorts.

Can you survive for 24 hours without your computer?

    My thoughts on this --

(However, by typing this on Friday morning at 12:00 am, technically I am planning my spontaneous event well in advance. That probably cancells out my right to claim that I have done something spontaneous)

So, I am shutting down, and when I wake up on Saturday, I will spend the day doing other things. See you on Sunday!

    Welcome to My World.

headache city It goes away. It comes back. It goes away. It comes back. It could be sinus. It could be a cluster migraine.

    It could be an aneurysm.

I am fairly certain that it is sinus related; after all, it started about a week ago with the onset of the Spring season... (if you want to call temperatures in the 60s "warm" and refer to it as "spring").

Although I do not actually believe that I have an aneurysm, I have entertained the thought. I realize that entertained is an odd choice of words when talking about pondering the possibility of having a brain aneurysm, but it is only a word, and it is so far from the point.

Friday night was the first night all week that I do not have the persistent pain above my right eye. It is now Saturday night - or -- actually, very early Sunday morning)... and I can feel that it wants to come back (again). This in mind, I am going to go to bed very soon. I had a very long day (Saturday) and I am very tired.

I'll Take Stolen Topics for 300, Alex.

When it comes situations where a discussion turns heated, I tend to wear an expression on my face that allows anybody with half a gram of sense to know that something is about to happen.

At that point, they have about ten seconds to do something. That ten seconds (or less, depending on how much I am affected by the situation) allows me to analyze the words I want to use and what order I am going to put them in. The person might want to consider doing something (running away)... or possibly saying something remotely intelligent to diffuse me... (something).

Most of them just STAND THERE. Sometimes the switch in my head actually functions and I don't say what it is that I really want to say, but rather, I make a feeble attempt to deliver it with a buffer. Either way, it is not too hard to find the message behind my words.

A few examples: Be warned that some of these will seem incredibly mean and sort of out of character for me -- but these are moments of intense emotion.

"If you value your health, you will get thef...k out of here now." (This was actually said to a guy I work with not too long ago.) He had chosen the worst possible time to attempt to be comedically sarcastic. My first thought was to hit him on the head with something heavy. Then, realizing that assault and battery was not a path I wanted to take, I came to the conclusion that I had no other option other than to put that negative energy into spoken word. I did not think about it very long, I just said it.

"Look on the bright side" people tend to piss me off rather than make me feel better. Sometimes there is no right thing to say- and some people never seem to recognize it when it is one of those times.

Do I look like I am listening to you? ... describes the look on my face when people are trying to explain the sunnier side of things.

"You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar", boasted Mr. Optimism.

    My reply to this:
"I usually see more flies on rotten meat or a pile of shit, but honey might work in a pinch."
